Multimodal project shipping Haselünne – Shanghai

O.T.S. ASTRACON spent this summer on an extensive project shipment from the tranquil town of Haselünne in Lower Saxony to the metropolis of Shanghai in China.

17 axles and a barge

The meticulously planned journey started in mid-July with the assembly of the platform trailer at the German manufacturer in Emsland. After successful acceptance by the TÜV authorities, the oversized freight was transported by road on 17 axles to its first stage destination, the Eurohafen Emsland inland port in Haren.

The following day, heavy-duty telescopic cranes were erected to load the cargo onto Captain “Dhr Wijkstra’s” barge. The onward transport took the “Ms Sped” safely via the Ems and other canals to its destination, Kaai 478 Zuidnatie Breakbulk in Antwerp.

Combined well in Antwerp

Two more oversized crates, which we had in the meantime shipped to Antwerp by out-of-gauge transport, were already waiting in the dry warehouse to be loaded together with the huge cargo. At the beginning of August, the complete project cargo was duly loaded onto the “KRASZEWSKI” and set sail for Shanghai, China.

Arrival in China as scheduled

After arrival on schedule, safe unloading in Shanghai and ensuring full satisfaction of all project participants, another successfully implemented and highly interesting project shipment ended for us.
