Sustainable energy transported efficiently: O.T.S. ASTRACON delivers eleven battery containers for solar park in Groß Godems – multimodal logistics from China to Germany successfully implemented.

Hassle-free delivery from China to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

ASTRACON successfully delivered eleven battery containers from China for the expansion of a large solar park project by Sonnenschmied Industriesysteme GmbH in Groß Godems. The project was implemented as part of a multimodal transport concept consisting of complete pre-carriage handling, sea freight, and subsequent land freight to the construction site.

Two ASTRACON employees accompanied the delivery on site and coordinated the logistics processes directly on the premises—equipped with safety clothing and many years of experience in project logistics.

The battery storage units delivered are a central component of the solar park project, which, with 51 megawatts peak, almost 72,000 modules, and a storage capacity of 41 megawatt hours, makes an important contribution to the regional energy supply. The storage units compensate for fluctuations and enable the electricity generated to be used even when there is little sunlight.

Strong cooperation, strong images

Not only does the solar project boast impressive figures – the freight was also challenging: as a heavy goods transport with a container load of 38 tons, this shipment was classified as heavy and dangerous goods, and several terminal changes and ship delays kept the coordination team busy with loading and delivery schedules. Thanks to excellent teamwork, the containers were finally unloaded successfully using heavy-duty cranes.

The project in Groß Godems is already the fifth successful project of this kind in which O.T.S. ASTRACON has been able to demonstrate its expertise in the field of complex international project logistics.
